This workshop event explored theory and practice in measuring social outcomes, bringing together a panel of cross-sector experts to provide different perspectives and expertise on this topic including:

- Anna Draffin, Philanthropy Australia Deputy CEO
These presenters discussed outcomes-based accounting for community sector organisations, planning for and evaluating social returns on investments and the outcomes looked for by philanthropists.

This workshop, presented by Joseph Connellan, was designed to help organisations plan for the future. Participants identified and assessed the financial and governance priorities for their organisations in the current community sector context and were provided with tools and information to inform strategic planning.
Joseph has 20 years’ experience in service development and delivery and has been the Executive Officer of three housing agencies. Combined with a strong background in policy and program development within government, Joseph focuses on the delivery of products and services designed to maximise agency performance in a constantly evolving political, social and economic landscape.

Re-imagining the relationship between the community sector and government

The final Bank Australia-VCOSS Finance Network event for 2014 was an opportunity for our guest speakers to share their reimagined visions for community sector and government relations.
Guest speakers included:

Following the presentations, members of the Finance Network were invited to join bankmecu and VCOSS for celebratory end of year drinks from 5pm. This unique event was a fantastic opportunity to network with other CEOs, CFOs, board members and financial decision makers from the community sector.
