Michael Brennan, Chief of Staff to Victorian Treasurer Kim Wells spoke about state and federal budget implications, charity law reform and in dustrial change. Attendees were also able to participate in a Q & A with Mr Brennan around government priorities.

This day included a presentation from RMIT’s Professor David Hayward on the State finances and budget implications for the sector, updates on regulatory reform from Juanita Pope, Director PilchConnect and Andrew Sealey, Director of Compliance at the ACNC, sector updates on Price Index, Pay Equity and Modern Award from Michael Pegg, Industrial Relations Manager, Jobs Australia and Jim Higgins, Executive Director, Corporate Services Division, Department of Human Services and a presentation on Responsible Investment from Michelle Brisbane, Ethical Investment Services.

Our February meeting focused on revenue diversification with an exciting panel of presenters including CSI’s philanthropy fellow, Gina Anderson, Social Traders David Brookes, Cheryl Dezilwa from Windermere and Belinda Drew from Foresters, exploring philanthropy, unrelated business income tax and social enterprise.
