Applying a deeper understanding of conflict styles
This practical workshop provides an overview of different conflict styles and how that influences communication. Participants will identify a range of conflict styles, including their own personal conflict style, as well as communication styles to see what works and what doesn’t, and why. Assertive communication and active listening skills will be discussed and practiced. The workshop will assist those supporting people during conflict resolution.
At the end of the workshop participants will have:
An increased understanding of conflict
Reviewed a range of conflict styles
Identified their own conflict style
A deeper understanding of communication styles to see what works and what doesn’t, and why
Been provided with an understanding of assertive communication and active listening
Practiced techniques of assertive communication and active listening
Information on resources to assist with managing conflict
Kim Fraser is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Financial Counsellor and Trainer and with over 27 years’ experience. Kim has a particular interest in mediating property matters to help parents make sense of legal advice and property settlements post separation. She was one of 50 international delegates invited to attend the International Symposium on Child Support in 2013 which brought together Australia’s leading researchers and practitioners. Kim has delivered many workshops and courses including conflict and communication and mediating financial matters.
