The Disability Advocacy Resource Unit (DARU) has been increasingly approached by disability advocacy organisations wishing to improve their knowledge and access to resources regarding the NDIS. DARU is currently reviewing our output of resources and training to best ensure it meets the needs of disability advocates in their everyday work. As a part of this process, we have conducted an analysis of the Advocacy Sector Conversations Forum Evaluation feedback, which was overwhelmingly calling for more resources, training and information on the NDIS, including:
- Information on accessing the NDIS for current and potential participants
- Navigating and understanding the NDIS processes, including plan reviews and appeals
- Ways to collect and communicate information about the NDIS, and to inform systemic disability advocacy on the NDIS.
We would like to invite you or a representative of your organisation to an NDIS Consultation with DARU to further explore these resourcing needs to identify the tools and training that you require to equip you for this stage of your work.
The consultation will be held in the VCOSS Boardroom, Level 8, 128 Exhibition St, Melbourne on Thursday 27th April from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Please register to attend the consultation through the Eventbrite booking system by using the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/daru-ndis-consultation-tickets-32677495268?ref=estw
