For some time now increased competition, increasing demand for services and a tighter funding environment have led to many sector organisations to find new ways to maximise their chances to flourish and thrive. Whether desirable or not mergers and acquisitions have become a feature of this landscape.
Spoken about in whispers, but seldom explored openly, this event invites you to join Nava Subramanian, Professor of Accounting and Director of Governance, Accountability and Law Research at RMIT University for a conversation about her research and experiences of the processes and the pitfalls of mergers and acquisitions in the NFP sector.
Given the topic area, this seminar does not involve any discussion of your own organisations or its intentions.
Rather, guided by Nava’s experience, this conversation will support you to explore examples of such mergers and acquisitions in a neutral environment. The conversation will help participants to explore what happens in such situations, how the process can be managed and what to look out for through the process. It will also highlight how, under such conditions, it is still possible to benefit the people who use NFP services.
Please note: this event is not catered, apart from tea and coffee. You are more than welcome to BYO lunch.
